Dr. Ifeanyi Onyeji inspired me to put my best foot forward at the American Urological Association 2023 conference and I will always be grateful for the indelible impact he left on my career.

I want to begin by expressing my sincere gratitude to Dr. Ifeanyi Onyeji's family as well as Urology Unbound for providing the financial support for my attendance at AUA 2023. I applied for this award because I was accepted to conduct my first-ever podium presentation at AUA and I had to travel from the Great White North (Canada) to do it! I was so excited to present my research findings on such a big stage, and I am thankful that I was blessed with this opportunity and had the financial support to do so. The award also signifies to me the wonderful Urology Unbound community that I was fortunate enough to discover, which pushed me to remain motivated to pursue urology throughout clinical rotations.

Prior to the conference, my goal was to learn more about myself as a young researcher and to network with seasoned researchers within the field of urology, and I believe I accomplished those goals. As a rising fourth-year student without a home urology program, this experience proved to be invaluable not only to my attendance at my first AUA but also to the upcoming journey to the urology match in 2024. At no point would I have been afforded the luxury of getting face time with so many people who had the propensity to forge a path for me. It was also comforting to know that my own initiatives in seeking a community in Urology Unbound and our tremendous mentors have steered me in the right direction.
